Autumn is a particularly risky season as regards the well-being and beauty of hair. In fact, the change of season puts a strain on the organism and its delicate equilibrium. One of the various consequences that appear on the physical and psychological level can be an increase in hair loss. To solve this problem, you can turn to Mycotherapy for help, the natural method that uses Medicinal Mushrooms to treat people and help them stay healthy.

Hair loss can depend on many different causes

Hair follows a cycle of birth, life and death consisting of three phases. The anagen phase is that of active growth, in which about 90% of the hair follicles are engaged in producing hair fibre. During the catagen phase the hair stops growing, but remains attached to the scalp for another three to four weeks. However, in the last phase, the telogen phase, hair falls out. The daily loss of some hair (on average 80-90 hairs) in the telogen phase is an absolutely normal fact and is linked to the physiological phenomenon of hair replacement. If, on the other hand, a large number of hairs (greater than 300 for long periods) enter the telogen phase, this causes significant hair thinning. The cause may be due to many different factors: not only the change of season, but also an unbalanced diet, an accumulation of stress, the use of aggressive treatments, smoking, a constitutional predisposition, particular stages of life (such as postpartum or menopause). In some cases there are actual diseases, such as alopecia areata, characterized by the appearance of round or oval patches, devoid of hair.

The most useful Mushrooms

Regardless of the cause that has led to hair weakening and loss, first of all you should pay more attention to your diet. Ideally, you should try to introduce larger amounts of fruit and vegetables, sources of vitamins and minerals, substances that help strengthen the hair, and to reduce the consumption of those foods that play a negative role, such as meat, dairy products and alcohol. Secondly, you should try to have as regular and healthy a lifestyle as possible, by limiting negative factors, such as stress and smoking. As for Mycotherapy, the most suitable mushroom in these cases is certainly Polyporus. In fact, it protects hair from aging, counteracts hair loss and promotes regrowth. All thanks to some substances contained within it, in particular polyporusterones A and B, which have a chemical structure similar to that of cortisone, estrogens, androgens: the hormones that fix minerals in the body.

For a stronger effect, Reishi and Shiitake can also be added and together with Polyporus form the so-called "Super Hair" protocol. Reishi, in fact, increases the nourishment and oxygenation of the hair, favouring the hair growth phase. Shiitake, on the other hand, is useful to restore impaired immunity, which is why it is indicated above all in the presence of alopecia areata, which is considered an autoimmune disease.

Moreover, we must not forget that all these mushrooms also perform many other beneficial actions. For example, Shiitake protects the intestine and teeth in an excellent way, Reishi is anxiolytic, antibiotic, vasodilator, antioxidant, while Polyporus has a very effective diuretic effect and is a natural immune-stimulant. As always, to obtain results, the mushrooms must be taken at a dosage of two grams per day, for at least three months.
